Scene of the crime where Yoseph Robinson took bullets in the chest to save his girlfriend. A former Jamaican hip hop executive was shot dead in a robbery in Brooklyn, New York Thursday night.
It is understood that that a gunman entered a liquor store about 9:30 and demanded that Robinson’s girlfriend hand over her bracelet.
When Robinson, 34, tried to protect her, the gunman shot him several times in the chest and arm.
He was then taken to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Friends say Robinson was well known, and well-liked, in the community.
Robinson was born in Jamaica, and worked as a hip-hop executive before converting to Orthodox Judaism.
His lyrics were taken from the torah and he turned them into reggae songs.
He was working on a book about how he turned to Judaism to escape a life of drugs and violence.
