A man who is accused of beating his girlfriend with his cellular phone had his bail extended in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
He is 31-year-old George Panton of a Kingston 16 address, who has been charged with unlawful wounding. Panton is to return to court on February 9 when the matter will be mentioned, as the file is incomplete.
Allegations are that on November 7 at 6:30 p.m., Panton and his girlfriend had an altercation when he used his cellular phone to hit the complainant in her ear, causing it to bleed.
It is also alleged that the same phone was used to hit the complainant on her mouth, damaging her teeth.
The complainant allegedly received several cuts and bruises all over her body.
