A man was shot by the police along Heywood Street a few minutes ago.
Persons who claimed to witness the incident said that they saw police chasing the man in the area.
"We see the police a chase the man then we hear two shots and see them carry the man gone," said a woman, one of several persons now gathered at the area.
Police who are now on the scene have declined to give details of the shooting and have cordoned off the area.
