A police officer who was burned severely with hot water by his common-law wife after they had a domestic dispute is now recovering in the hospital.
The incident took place on Sunday at the couple's home in Manchester.
Information reaching THE WEEKEND STAR is that the policeman and his common-law wife had a dispute which resulted in the woman attacking the lawman with the hot water. As a result of the attack, the policeman received burns to his body.
THE WEEKEND STAR understands that the injured officer, a detective corporal attached to the Santa Cruz Police Station in St Elizabeth, has since been admitted to the Mandeville Regional Hospital for treatment.
The woman has since been taken into police custody.
The incident was confirmed by a police officer at the Santa Cruz Police Station.
