TRIPLET'S BIRTH A SCAM?.......

Becoming a father can be one of the greatest accomplishments for a man. However, one man who was recently expecting to become a father has been left puzzled as to whether his babies were born or not.

Information reaching THE STAR is that the police are now investigating a puzzling theory by a woman who claims she was in the hospital last Sunday. While the woman claims to have given birth and that her kids died, the hospital denies she was even a patient.

Reports are that the woman claims that on March 14 while in the hospital, she gave birth to triplets who died immediately after birth.

However, to date, the babies cannot be accounted for and the hospital authorities have no record to show that the woman was a patient, or had any babies.

Sources close to the parties involved told THE STAR that the woman, who was indeed pregnant when they last saw her about four months ago, made a call to her 'babyfather' on March 13, telling him that she had gone into labour and was being admitted at the hospital.

The source further stated that about 3 a.m. the next morning, the woman sent a text message telling her 'babyfather' that she had given birth.

Upon receiving this information, the man and his sister decided to visit the woman at the hospital.

When he got there and inquired about her whereabouts he was told that no one had been admitted to the labour ward by the given name.

While they were still there, the woman sent another text message telling him to meet her at her home in Old Harbour, because a doctor would be running the ward at 11 a.m., at which time she would be released. Some time later, she called the man and told him that she had been discharged and was at the pharmacy buyingmedication.

The source said, "When she come out a the pharmacy, the sista ask her how she look so, like she nuh just have baby and how dem release har so quick when them affi observe yuh fi 24 hours."

She is said to have then mentioned that the babies had died. "She say that she sure di baby dem dead cause she see dem, and she sign papers fi dem cremate dem," the source said.

The questionable situation caused the woman's sister-in-law to make checks and it was revealed that there was no record to show that the woman was a patient. The records also showed that the last time she was treated was in 2006.

The sister in charge then requested that the woman be brought up to the ward so that she could gather more information into the matter.

When she was brought up, she was questioned about the doctor and nurse who tended to her. However, the name she gave was said to have been fictitious and after much discussion, the woman is said to have stormed out of the hospital and has not been seen since then.

The police were eventually informed of the situation and an official report was also made at a later date.

The Old Harbour Police have confirmed that a report was lodged about the matter earlier this week.
