Residents of a Manchester community were startled earlier this week after a pack of vicious mongrel dogs bit off a piece of a man's penis.
The incident reportedly occurred about 12:15 Wednesday afternoon in Greenvale, Manchester.
THE WEEKEND STAR understands that the 45-year-old man, who makes brooms for a living, was rushed to the Mandeville Hospital where he was treated and released.
"When the dog grab on to his penis, he was trying to push off di dog but di dog dragged it and run off with it and drop di piece that him bite off," said the owner of the dog when contacted by THE WEEKEND STAR. "When wi wake up di next day, dem did a look for it but it seems like ants or something like dat must gone with it."
other injuries
The man reportedly received eight stitches on his penis and is also nursing several injuries to his knees and hands following the incident.
One source said that since the attack, the man was heard telling someone about his bandaged penis that; "Look how it likkle and a eight stitches hold in deh."
THE WEEKEND STAR understands the injured man, who is originally from Clarendon, was staying with relatives in Manchester as he works in the parish. However, something strange is said to have happened that afternoon as the dogs that should have been familiar with him didn't recognise him.
According to a family member, "He rides a bicycle but on that day I really don't know what happen because it is not the first time he is coming into the yard."
The family member believes that because he was wearing a hat and short pants at the time of the incident the dogs didn't recognise him.
"The dogs didn't recognise the person and rush him and a so him run out of his slippers and ran straight into the house. I have four mongrel dogs, Max, Skinup, Alex, and Blacky," the owner said.
She further said that he went back outside to get his slippers and that was when he was attacked. "Blacky bite him first and after dat Alex push his head between di man legs and bite off the front part of his penis. The dogs dem also bite him on his knees and on his hands," she said.
THE WEEKEND STAR has been informed that the family has been helping with the man's medical expenses. "The dogs are there to protect the yard. It is not like the dogs were outside on the road troubling anybody so him cannot blame us," the family member said. "He is not demanding anything really but is just saying that he is going to need some assistance since he won't be able to work for a while."
In the meantime, efforts made by THE WEEKEND STAR to confirm the incident at the Mandeville Hospital were futile.
