IRIE FM DJ and media personality DJ Amber has admitted that she is pregnant with deejay I Octane’s second child.

Rumours have been swirling in Kingston over the last few weeks regarding Amber’s pregnancy, which is now entering the fourth month. She spoke to media in an exclusive interview about her relationship with the deejay.

“We had a long term friendship which turned into a short term relationship which is now over. I ended the relationship in March, I got pregnant in February of this year, it was sudden for both of us,” she said.

Amber explained that when she informed Octane she was pregnant in March, because even though it was an unplanned pregnancy, they had been having unprotected sex for several months. In fact, she said, he had asked her many times to have a child for him. “Soon after, Octane called me to say that if I continued with the pregnancy, I would be on my own, so I decided to go ahead on my own, I would not terminate my pregnancy. Anyway, three days later, he called to apologise and that he was sorry about what he said, and that he would share in the child’s life and accept responsibility,” she told media

However, later that month, she discovered that I Octane was involved in a personal relationship with another well-known media personality. “And not only that..he also lived with his child’s mother who he claimed he wasn’t having a relationship with. We had been friends for several years, and for the six years we have been friends, he had always pursued me, but at the time, I was involved in a three-year relationship so I wasn’t interested. Then last year, I was released from that relationship and I became intimate with him. He told me he was single and I believed him,” she said.

However, when she realized that she had fallen in love with him and that she wanted to have a serious long term relationship with him, she decided to do her own investigations.

“I had my suspicions, so I spoke to his babymother, the one that he lives with, and I told her I was pregnant. I also spoke to the other media personality and told her I was pregnant as well,” she said.

She said that she was surprised that I Octane had been romantically involved with so many other women.

“He said he was a rastaman yet he was involved in illicit relationships with so many women, I felt betrayed and hurt that he was not what he professed to be. When I confronted him, he told me that I didn’t have to play his music anymore “because him buss already”, so I have taken his advice, and I am not playing his songs anymore, I have withdrawn from his professional life,” she said.

DJ Amber said that she was the first person to begin playing him on national radio.

“I believed in him but he is a fraud, I was his friend for many years before we got intimate, and I am now pregnant. But it doesn’t matter, I am having my baby,” she said.

She also wants to lay to rest any rumours that I Octane wanted her to have an abortion.

“He never told me to have an abortion,” she said. “I just don’t want to be involved in that sort of lifestyle where he is having unprotected sex with several women. I tried to get him to use condoms but he always refused, people need to understand that I don’t need him to support this child…I ended the relationship because I don’t want to be with someone who is sleeping around and telling me so many lies…I don’t want to live like that.”
