The Alliance Next Generation (ANG), is growing in popularity under the guidance of dancehall general Bounty Killer, who recently recorded Gone Ya Now with the group. The single is getting considerable media attention and radio rotation.

The group, which consists of Iyara, Marlon Binns, Pattex, Nymron, Assailant and Bridgez, operates as the main unit from a larger list of artistes said to be members of ANG.

Iyara told THE STAR that ANG is huge, and still growing. "Alliance is bigger than six persons. however, we are just the ones that are at the front right now, when we launch out, there will be another set," he said.

The manager of the ANG, Cross Cris, confirmed that the ANG group was just a subset of an extended Alliance family, and that while the artistes are operating under the heading ANG, they also have solo careers.

"Right now, Marlon Binns just came from Africa on a promotional tour, and will be going to Canada next, as well as Iyara has a song with Elephant Man that is getting substantial airplay. Everybody a duh them thing," he said.

It is not the first time that the Alliance has been divided into sub groups according to Iyara. "Remember Killa started the movement with Scare Dem Crew enuh, then Alliance, then yu have Gullyside, then yu have Gulliance and Galliance for the ladies, but everything combined is one big family," he said.

Cross Cris also added that every day upcoming artistes approach them with the desire to become part of the Alliance, but its not as easy as it seems.

"Some people might think that once yu come an hang around the Alliance members, that you are a part of it, it nuh guh like that, there is a screening process. We have to deem you as being talented first, then we recommend you to Bounty Killer and he will decide," he said.

According to the ANG manager, the Alliance is very structured, and survives from the strength of the lead man Bounty Killer.

"Bounty Killer is an iconic figure in dancehall that is always current, and the calibre of artistes in the Alliance is very credible, so there are so many mentors for the younger artistes to learn from," he said.

"Every artiste that Bounty Killer introduced into the music industry can survive individually, and that is the general idea with ANG. Though they operate as a core group presently, as individual artistes they will be effective on the music scene," he promised.

Marlon Binns, who is the sinjay in ANG, says that since the group was formed, "the chemistry is amazing and it's a good look, and wi naah get nuh beaten from Killa, a money him gi wi," he joked.

According to ANG, a video will be shot for Gone Ya Now and a follow-up group single called Party Spree, produced by Payday Music, among other solo projects for the member.

According to Cross Cris, Alliance has an estimated 40 established artistes, plus a host of young acts who are yet to be previewed.
