A St Catherine woman was left visibly shaken after being robbed of a gold chain and a wedding band on the grounds of the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court office on Friday.
The incident took place about 11:45 a.m.
Allegations are that the woman went to the facility to seek legal redress in a matter when she was reportedly approached by two men armed with guns.
It is alleged that one of the men held on to the chain while the other slid the ring off her finger and threatened to assault her if she made an alarm.
"I jus' see when di two men approach mi and dem put mi inna di corner and robbed mi of di jewellery, one of dem asked me if mi have any phone, please. Dem jus' calmly walk through the back part of the premises and escaped," the woman told THE STAR.
Meanwhile, workers and visitors to the facility told THE STAR that they are concerned by the criminal acts as cars are broken into and persons robbed in the vicinity.
THE STAR has also learnt that just over a week ago, a man attending court was also robbed.
The consensus is that more stringent security measures need to be put in place for the benefit of the workers and those whom they serve.
