As the Jamaican society tries to put the gruesome practice of beheadings behind, another person suffered a similar fate yesterday, at Hopefield Avenue in Kingston 6.
The headless body of 43-year- old gardener Donovan Murray was found in his yard in the wee hours of the morning clad only in his underpants.
According to the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) about 6 a.m., residents found the body and summoned the police who found Murray's body in a pool of blood.
James Wade, his stepfather described the incident to The Sunday Gleaner as horrific and frightening.
Shocked
"I was going out about 5:50 this morning to work and I meet up on his body on his belly at the gate, I was so shocked. From it happen I am weak; I didn't even bother to go to work. It is sad to see how him die," he lamented yesterday.
He continued, "It look like them call him out at the gate and is that time them kill him because there is no blood trace from the house."
Another resident in the yard said he woke up about 11:30 p.m. and saw his neighbour's door open, but though it wasn't a usual practice, he did not take it for anything.
"The last time I saw him was Thursday, because when I came in last night he wasn't here yet because the lock was on his door, but when I went outside in the night his door was open, and him no normally have him door open so late," he argued.
This latest horrendous act is the fifth such incident to have happened in recent times - following that of an 18-year-old male in Lauriston in St Catherine, and those of a mother and daughter in the same parish - in what appeared to be a copy of the first three cases, one week after the country was rocked by news that another man suffered the same fate in August Town.
