A man who attempted to break into a motor car in Cooreville Gardens yesterday died after he fell on a metal pipe while trying to elude the owner of the vehicle.

He has not yet been identified.

He is of Indian decent, appears to be in the early twenties, is of stout build, brown complexion and about six feet tall. His body was clad in a black shirt and blue jeans pants. There is a tattoo on the right upper arm.

The Duhaney Park police report that about 2:00 pm residents saw the man breaking into a car in the community.

The owner was alerted and in an effort to escape, he jumped over a wall, lost his balance and landed on a metal pipe which pierced his chest.

He was taken hospital where he died while being treated.
