The cops are now investigating allegations that a 33-year-old man stabbed his female companion several times in her back and then slit his throat after he got in a jealous fit.
The man and the woman are now under police guard in hospital in stable condition.
Reports reaching THE STAR are that the incident occurred on Sunday around 6:30 a.m., at the couple's home in St Andrew.
Allegations being investigated by the police are that the woman was stabbed several times in her back and the man proceeded to slit his throat after he thought she had died.

A resident of the community where the couple lives told THE STAR that, "Di man woman work out and they have been having some problems for some time now."
The source further said, "Mi hear seh that she come up from down di country over the weekend and she didn't sleep with him and wake di morning a talk to man on di phone and a dat started di fight."
According to the police when they arrived on the scene the injured man was seen running away but was later apprehended and taken to the hospital.
"He was running towards his mother's house with his neck cut really bad but he later collapsed. He said the reason he attempted suicide is because he would prefer to be dead because people are going to think that he is a bad person," a police officer said yesterday.
