A mother and her daughter were brutally slain this morning by an unknown assailant at their apartment complex along Queens Way in St Andrew. Dorothy Lym, 72, a mother of five children, and her daughter, Arlene Lym, 46, were stabbed to death in the wee hours of of this morning. They were both found outside the back entrance to their building.
"The neighbours heard the first screams this morning," said Karen Sinclaire-Lym, daughter-in-law of Dorothy Lym.

"When me and my husband got here, we found grandma (Dorothy Lym) and rushed her to the hospital. My husband found his sister (Arlene Lym) in-front the house but she was already dead," she continued.
Dorothy Lym died at the University Hospital at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona a short while after.
Arlene Lym, who was the executive assistant to Douglas Orane, Chairman of GraceKennedy Limited, was reportedly eating breakfast at the time of her death.
"I was the one who came and cleaned the breakfast off the floor," said Sinclaire-Lym. "The police came and went earlier this morning… my husband is not doing well."
