Two men were taken into custody by the Darling Street police yesterday following the seizure of 52 pounds of ganja, found aboard a Leyland truck carrying market vendors.
Both men who have been charged with possession of and dealing in ganja are booked to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court today.
According to police reports, the lawmen went on an operation about 12:15 a.m when they intercepted the truck on Pechon Street and conducted a search of the vehicle and the passengers on board.
The ganja was later found wrapped in black plastic bags and concealed in a crocus bag.
Subsequently, the driver and the sideman both from St Elizabeth were taken into police custody and charged.
