A magnitude 5.1 earthquake was felt in St Ann yesterday morning, THE WEEKEND STAR understands.
The earthquake was reportedly felt at 3:43 a.m.
A statement from the University of the West Indies Earthquake Unit said that the epicentre was located approximately 150 kilometres north of Montego Bay or west-southwest of Bayamo, Cuba.
In May, it was reported that a tremor measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale was felt in sections of the island. The epicentre of that quake was located 20 kilometres south of Black River, St Elizabeth.
