The 43-year-old mother of a teenage rape victim who has reportedly been suffering in lock-up says that she is now on the verge of a mental breakdown.
In July, THE STAR reported that the woman was desperately seeking help for her 14-year-old daughter who she says was not only raped by a church deacon at the tender age of 10, but also by the system.
"We went to court last week Thursday morning, right now they are saying I have to get $50,000 to bail her. If I don't get a surety, she have to stay there till November when the case call back," she told THE STAR.
But coming up with that bail surety is not the only problem that the mother claims she has.
"Mi hear say is because I bring the story to THE STAR people don't want to talk to me. When I go to the CDA in Spanish Town, dem sham me off say dem don't know who is the caseworker and have me all over the place," she commented.

Furthermore, she said, "The little girl still suffering in there, nobody don't business. She is a lovely little girl, she need some counselling, some help but not in there, dem put her in there like she is a criminal."
It was reported that in 2008 a deacon sexually molested the child. The accused, Patrick Woodhouse, was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment after being found guilty in the Spanish Town Circuit Court.
Previously, the mother explained that one day after the incident had occurred, she had trouble finding the youngster so she filed a missing- person report.
"When they (police) found her, them carry her to Stony Hill but she and a girl was having problem, so dem move her to Fort Augustus."
In July, a representative from Child Development Agency (CDA) told THE STAR that he was aware of the matter. He explained that previously the court had made an order for the child to receive counselling, however this was not done. He also said that he was currently in the process of trying to get the matter back before the court to see how it can be assessed.
Nevertheless, all efforts to get an update from the CDA proved futile.
